Biography

Frederick P. N. Howard, professionally known as Frederick Howard, is a Norwegian film producer, company executive and researcher in creative leadership.

He has more than twenty years of experience across film, television and animation. Before joining Storm Films, he served as Head of Production at SF Norge, the Norwegian arm of SF Studios that today operates as SF Studios Norway, with production run through Paradox. His work combines creative development, international financing, company leadership and cross-border production. At Storm Films, he leads the development and production of Norwegian family entertainment and international co-productions.

Howard’s producing credits include Three Wishes for Cinderella (Tre nøtter til Askepott, 2021), Captain Sabertooth and the Treasure of Lama Rama (2014), Battle (2018), The Shamer’s Daughter (2015), Dragon Girl (Dragevokteren, 2020), Full dekning (2022) and the Disney animated series Vikingskool. His wider body of work covers feature films, documentaries, short films and television drama.

Howard was educated as a producer at the Norwegian Film School and completed the ACE Producers programme. He holds a PhD in artistic research focused on trust, leadership and collaboration in creative organisations. His research developed Trust Design, a practical framework for creative teams built on clarity, competence, authenticity and benevolence.

Alongside his executive and producing work, Howard has contributed for many years to the governance of companies across the Storm Group. His board appointments have included Storm Studios, the Academy Award-nominated visual effects studio, Euforia Film, the group’s film distribution company, and Nordisk Film Shortcut, the post-production company co-owned with Nordisk Film. This work has given him sustained experience across production, visual effects, post-production and theatrical distribution.

Howard served for close to a decade as a board member at the Norwegian Film School. He has worked actively with talent development through the school and through Storm’s former SKALA programme, which supported emerging filmmakers and new creative voices.

He has also served as deputy chair of the Norwegian Producers’ Association. Howard is frequently invited to speak and take part in panels at film and media industry events. He regularly publishes opinion pieces in Norwegian newspapers and industry magazines on production policy, international financing, creative leadership and the future of the European audiovisual sector.
